The award, named after the U.S. District Judge Matthew J. Perry Jr., is bestowed annually to the judge and lawyer who best exemplify the word “civility” by exhibiting courteous and polite conduct while working in the legal profession. (more…)

SC Bar Young Lawyers Division honors Sowell Gray’s Leaphart

leaphart_pr_webB. Gibbs Leaphart Jr., an associate with Sowell Gray Stepp & Laffitte, has been honored as a “Star of the Quarter” for his work with the South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Division.

Leaphart, who toured the Southeast as a bass guitarist with the band Five Way Friday before attending law school, has served since 2008 as co-chair of the division’s “Justice Jam Committee.” (more…)
