Managing Member Cal Watson becomes president-elect of SC Bar
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Sowell Gray Stepp & Laffitte, LLC Managing Member Cal Watson has been sworn in as president-elect of the South Carolina Bar, a position that will prepare him to lead the 14,000-member organization in 2014.Watson has served on the South Carolina Bar Board of Governors since 2009 after previously serving from 1997 to 2000. He served as treasurer in 2012-13 and as secretary in 2011-12. He’s been on the South Carolina Bar’s House of Delegates since 1997. More »

Horner becomes fourth Sowell Gray attorney with out-of-state license
COLUMBIA – Bob Horner, an associate with Sowell Gray Stepp & Laffitte, has been admitted to practice law in North Carolina.Horner joins three other attorneys at Sowell Gray who hold licenses in states in addition to South Carolina: member Grady Beard in Georgia, member Rob Tyson in Mississippi and associate David Dick in Kentucky. Watson attends ABA National Legal Malpractice Conference
Managing member, Cal Watson, recently attended the ABA National Legal Malpractice Conference in New Orleans, LA on April 24-26. The conference, sponsored by the Standing Committee on Lawyers’ Professional Liability, is a biannual event attended by lawyers and insurance industry representatives from around the nation. Haigler joins Kids’ Chance of South Carolina Board of Directors
